What are you getting your pets for Christmas?

Lots of pet owners happily splash the cash on their pets for Christmas. Around this time of year the shops are full of festive gifts for your four legged friends. You don’t have to go to a pet shop as most supermarkets and British variety stores such as B&M stock gifts for pets too.

Common gifts for dogs or cats are the stockings that you can buy prefilled with treats and toys. When choosing a gift or gifts for your pets be sure to do your research. You may think that because they are being sold in the shops that they will be fine for your pet but unfortunately this is not always the case. Often the very brightly coloured Christmas bones or biscuits contain so many other chemicals that they can even make some animals unwell.

IF you really want to treat your pet why not buy some good quality treats and possibly a chew toy from a reputable pet shop. This way at least you know what you are giving them is not going to do them any harm. Most pet shows will be able to advise you on what may be a good toy for your pet.
