Hamster Obstacle Courses

Hamster obstacle courses are one of the few ways that you can help to ensure that your pet receives all of the exercise it needs. As hamsters spend most of their lives in their cage, they are a lot more inactive than they would be if they were in the wild, so providing them with an obstacle course is certainly a good option. You could also give them an exercise wheel, but this won’t be as enriching as an obstacle course.

Obstacle courses come in a variety of sizes and complexity; you could get one which simply inhabits the space around the cage, giving them an interesting pathway to take to move around, or you could get a more extensive one, which would also inhabit a larger space. They can come with a variety of obstacles/features, such as a lift, a see-saw, a zig-zag tunnel, and many more besides this. The most important thing when deciding what you should include in your course is your pet’s safety.
