How to care for your horse
If you are considering buying or loaning a horse there is a lot to thin about. Owning any pet is a big commitment but a horse is often as big as it gets when it comes to pets. You need to think carefully about where you are going to keep the horse and whether you have the funds available to fully maintain it. Not all horses cost the same to look after. Some will require just jhay to eat others may need specialist food. They will all need a warm dry place to sleep as well as a horse blanket to keep them warm during the colder months. If you are going to be riding then horse then you need to get all the ridding equipment such as a saddle, reigns and bridle.
Vets bills are often the biggest cost for a horse owner so it is imperative that you have a good quality insurance policy if you cannot afford to pay for bills outright.
As a ridder you will also need to purchase ridding clothing such as boots, jodhpurs and a good quality riding helmet.
All of these things need to be considered very carefully before you decide if you can responsibly own a horse.
